I can actively say that this is one of the few things that can make me actually judge a person and hit the Back button. I'm sure looking up character names in MSN or Google or Yahoo! takes only ten seconds, so what's with the names, Mr/Ms Fanfic Writer?

If you are a non-native writer, then I apologize.

Why do non native Speakers/Writers get a pass on this?

I would assume we are the ones who make sure we spell the names right with googling them and so on, because we know we don't necessarily spell names the same in our own language?

or is that just a me thing, not a English as a second language thing?

In tv/movie fandoms, non-native speakers from countries where things tend to be subtitled (such as Sweden) should be more likely to get names right, since we see them in the subtitles all the time.

That's what I think too, also if it is for a book and we read it translated, we know the names might be translated too.

I'm looking at you Fred and Frank! (yeah they changed George to Frank, go figure)

also hi Favourite Swede!
