Yep. The writers haven't accepted that they can't have their cake and eat it too, basically. They want Troy to have a girlfriend so he can. . .idk become a man? Look more heterosexual? I have no clue what the point is, but anyway Troy and Abed are so close and the writers don't want to break that up because it's been one of the bedrocks of the show for three years that they choose each other over anyone else always, which. . .you can't do if you're dating someone else. When you date someone right, you're supposed to put them first or at least on equal/almost equal footing as your best friend. Abed is like sky high priority and Britta barely registers and it's just not good. If you want Troy and Abed to be soulmates like they have been and like they will be for the foreseeable future, they're just really bad relationship material for anyone but each other, and especially Britta because the way she and Troy are written makes them look terribly incompatible and unhealthy for each other.

Right now it just seems like Troy and Britta are fucking and Troy and Abed are the ones who are actually dating and it's. . .strange.
