Of glitzy chairs, lighted bulbs and SURPRISE WEDDING PHOTOS!

Well, I’m sure that most of you F!S’ers have already seen my earlier picture thread about the rites and customs of an ordinary Malay wedding. Well, it turns out that our neighbours are also preparing a wedding of their own. Quite something, it was. And for those of you who don’t know just what I’m talking about, the last thread link is up there for you.

As again, no ‘Akad Nikah’ ceremony; just the Bersanding part. Sorry everyone, but I wasn’t there when that happened. Also, the Bersanding ceremony happened at night, not day. Unusual, but I’ve been to weirder gatherings. There was one wedding where people would actually LIFT the couple on an open palanquin full of candles and carry them around with the candles LIT.

Ohhh, how fancy! What a beautiful wedding! I love the Christmas icicle lights (you probably don't call them that--I'm talking about the tiny little lights that hang down on strings?). They look fabulous!
