I quite like the idea that the Pokedex entries are written by kids, and thus are completely exaggerated.

Some might be true, or have elements of truth, but things like, "Alakazam has an IQ of five thousand!" or, "Magcargo is hotter than the surface of the sun!" just smacks of a little kid sounding far too impressed with everything. Alakazam would certainly be intelligent, Magcargo would certainly be hot, but just... exaggerated or misinterpreted.

Yeah, I always liked that idea, too. It's a really cute idea, and really, it just makes so much sense, especially, you know, considering the target audience.

Right! And given the games itself feature KIDS being given Pokedexes to fill out... I like the idea that there's some measure of truth in it, but the rest is just... heh, okay, no bird is going to fly at mach two, but no kid watching it zip across the sky is going to accurately measure it. "It was going faster than... faster than SOUND! No, TWICE as fast!"

Exactly!

I'm sure it goes for the spooky Pokemon, too. Of course they're kinda odd, but kids are afraid of bats and ghosts and stuff, so they write about how shit-scary they are. I had a monster in my closet like that as a kid, hahahahaha XD

Heh, yeah. I wouldn't mind some of those being true, though, just because I'm kind of in love with the Pokeverse being a crapsaccharine world. Just the IDEA of small children wielding powerful creatures with sharp claws is kind of a worry, let alone throwing psychic abilities, whatever the hell Dark does, and poison in the mix.
