Maybe her sudden explosion in funding is because so many people were so completely gross about the mere idea of a woman criticizing the portrayal of women in media--most of them had no real criticism of what she said, just FUCK GIRLS LOL--that other people piled on money to prove that they aren't with those idiots and that they're wrong

The thing is, the fact that she's gotten such a totally batshit insane reaction from some male gamer geeks out there suggests to me that she's saying at least something worth considering, and that whatever nerve she's striking exposes that the feminist perspective on gaming is a necessary and proper counterweight to the generally male-centric view of how gaming ought to go.
