Sorry, but what exactly does "camp" mean? I know the definition, but I don't think I'm confident about what it actually means to be able to look at something and go "oh yeah, that's camp, and it's camp because of _____"

I don't think there's one definition, but I tend to associate it with things that are over the top ridiculous and cliche. IIRC it has roots in the gay community, from when you couldn't be "flaming" at home, so peeps would go camping where you could be as OTT as you wanted.

Netflix just reminded me there's a movie called "Camp" about a (campy) drama camp.
