Re: Shows that you used to love but now hate
Stargate Universe had a similar reaction from me. Anticipated spin-off/sequel of a previous show that I loved, with me going into it high hopes blazing. I actually stopped watching about episode 17 when I realized that - not only was I actively rooting for the main character to die - but that I was becoming seriously, increasingly disappointed whenever he survived.
Once Upon a Time is also headed down that way, although I've got a great group of people I livechat it with, so it's still entertaining.
Project Runway hasn't been great for several seasons now. These last two I haven't even caught most of the episodes. I've been watching maybe two or three and then going to TLo for the rest.
Community may or may not going down that dark road. Right now with the new season, it's being stuck on 'meh.' Same with Doctor Who, only I always have a bit more hope with that because of the possibility of a new show runner/Doctor/companion.
...my life is a series of failing TV shows. Help.

Last week's episode gave me hope that at least the characters feel more recognizably them now, but I doubt the show will ever be as funny or subversive as it was in the first three seasons though. Although I could be wrong. Seeing the show get progressively more grounded as each episode goes makes me think they just need to find their footing and new voice.
Regardless of how mediocre this season is, I still am hoping for a renewal. It will be a sad day when I say goodbye to these characters and this fandom.
