Shows that you used to love but now hate

Whether they started out good and became bad, or you just started looking at them differently over time, or for some other reason.

Glee and Doctor Who come to mind. Glee just became a trainwreck, and Doctor Who became the Amy and Rory Show (and I really just don't like 11).

Are you still interested enough in DW to have it on the back burner until 12 comes, or is it just kinda gone from your interest?

Supernatural. Obviously.

Show went in the holy shitter and is never again seeing the light of day, as far as I'm concerned.

+1. I stuck through season 6 and to the end of season 7 out of loyalty before rage-quitting, and I can't even enjoy seasons 1-6 the way I used to because the dislike just carried over.

How I Met Your Mother. My history with that show is painful. Sounds silly given it's just a random sitcom, but there were special circumstances.

Agreed. Although I'm probably not as connected to it as you were/are. Still, it's gotten so bad that I can't even watch the new episodes; I just stick to the reviews and wikipedia summaries. I might watch the final episode whenever it airs, but that's it.

I wish I knew how to quit HIMYM. At this point, I watch it for sentimentality. It was one of the first shows my spouse and I watched together and it brought us closer.

It might be easier to list the shows that I loved till the end, because there are just so many that I lost interest in or started loathing after a couple of seasons.

But from love to hate or dislike: Buffy, Supernatural, Downton Abbey, Teen Wolf, House, and Vampire Diaries. At some point the characters just turned completely unlikable or the plot took a sharp turn to crap.

Legend of Korra. It's not so much "hate" rather than "extremely, extremely disappointing." The first four episodes were incredible and then it just started falling apart from there. I'm still somewhat looking forward to the next season, but only because there will be additional writers contributing.

Stargate Universe had a similar reaction from me. Anticipated spin-off/sequel of a previous show that I loved, with me going into it high hopes blazing. I actually stopped watching about episode 17 when I realized that - not only was I actively rooting for the main character to die - but that I was becoming seriously, increasingly disappointed whenever he survived.

Once Upon a Time is also headed down that way, although I've got a great group of people I livechat it with, so it's still entertaining.

Project Runway hasn't been great for several seasons now. These last two I haven't even caught most of the episodes. I've been watching maybe two or three and then going to TLo for the rest.

Community may or may not going down that dark road. Right now with the new season, it's being stuck on 'meh.' Same with Doctor Who, only I always have a bit more hope with that because of the possibility of a new show runner/Doctor/companion.

...my life is a series of failing TV shows. Help.

House (when the team split and I realized that I liked the old formula; I kept watching but eventually lost interest)

Bones (ugh, the fucking writing, yeah, keep ruining my favorite characters and handle sexuality and gender identity just barely this side of competently but still badly enough to be infuriating)

Criminal Minds (I just lost interest between one season to another, where the season finale was that a serial rapist got away and I just gave up)

CSI (I watched for Grissom and he kind of faded into the background :C)

NCIS (someone pointed out the patriarchism and I could not unsee it)

The Office, Once Upon a Time, BBC Sherlock (mostly because of fandom and showrunner's comments).

I'm not sure I've ever genuinely hated a show I once enjoyed, no matter how bad it got. I've probably come the closest with Heroes.

I have issues with Supernatural but I don't hate it either; I have lots of fond memories of the first few seasons and still see interesting/funny gifs from current seasons floating around tumblr, I'm just sort of 'meh' about it still existing.

Hate might be a slightly strong word though, strongly dislike is better:

House MD, Bones, NCIS, kinda Doctor Who, Criminal Minds and a bunch of others, I keep watching them though. They might get good again!

Charmed. I can still watch the first three seasons in reruns, but once Prue died the writing took a nosedive (not that it was ever brilliant to begin with). I liked Paige, but I just can't with all those stupid creature-of-the-week storylines.

I can't think of any shows that I hate now, but the closest is Bones, which I finally gave up a couple weeks ago. I don't know about hate, but I did really, really dislike the two main characters, and the writing had become so awful that it wasn't worth sticking around for the characters I did like.

Other than that...I haven't watched any of the current season of Supernatural and don't really have any desire to, at least not anytime soon, and I'm way behind on White Collar and Revenge. I did really like White Collar at one time, but I've been kind of meh about Revenge since the beginning. I'm not sure why I kept watching it, honestly, other than to have something to discuss with this one particular friend (that was the only show we both watched).

And I'm pretty indifferent to How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, and Criminal Minds these days, but I do still watch them out of habit.

CSI and Criminal Minds. Make it stop.

White Collar - I tried to like Neal and give him a chance, I really did! But when it became obvious that Neal was going to be allowed to get away with basically everything - no matter how ridiculous it would be - and that Peter has literally no control over him - I couldn't deal with it any longer.

Sherlock.

I realized that I didn't actually like the show, I liked the fandom's interpretations of it.

And a whole lot of other things bugged me. Now I think it's really overrated, and I wish somebody else had done a better "modern Sherlock Holmes".

Suits.

I mean, it's just 2 seasons in, so it's not a big loss if I quit now, but I really liked S1, and while S2 is okay, a lot of it messed with the characterization of S1.

SPOILERS:

For example, Harvey breaks rules, but has his own moral code, too. One way you see that is in his view of drugs and how he really wants Mike to stay clean. In S2, though, he and Mike smoke together - and it's even mentioned Jessica smokes, but not with them. Also, I hate the Jenny/Mike/Rachel/Whatever-the-married-childhood-friend's-name-is love blob, and a lot of Rachel's scenes just make me cringe, regardless.

So, yup, I'm out.

Friends. Really liked it when I was in middle school, for some reason. Now, my mom keeps putting on the reruns at night, and it just makes me cringe.

House. That Tritter arc was just so ba I couldn't stand the show anymore. House humiliates a guy, and he goes on to make everyone's life worse to the point of practically trying to kill patients, and everyone keeps saying he's got a point. He doesn't.
