You know, I used to be the same way. I couldn't handle war movies - they grossed me out so, so badly.

But then I saw Sweeny Todd in theaters, and something about the massive quantities of blood set to slightly hilarious music made it better. I've been able to work myself up to things like Game of Thrones without really reacting. I don't enjoy jump scares and "creepy" types of horror movies (and never will), but I surprisingly did okay with Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

OP, there's no reason for you to fight to like horror movies, but they can get better with (sadly) exposure to it.
