It's because OP took her video out of context. She was examining movies (of 2011?) and probing them for feminist content. She didn't totally dismiss the character, but she POINTED OUT that feminism shouldn't be all about women "behaving like men", that's why she doesn't refer to the character as "a feminist character (TM)".

That was probably narrow-minded of her or badly worded, but she is right that many people only consider a female character "feminist" or "strong" when they act tough, don't cry and generally aspire to rid themselves of typically feminine traits or behaviour.

The message I got from her was that a "feminist character (TM)" shouldn't be measured by how much they can resemble a man.

Thank you for explaining this. I was wondering whether the statement referred to by the OP was something she actually said or if it was something the OP interpreted as the thing in the secret.

What's taken out of context?

She said that Mattie Ross doesn't qualify as a feminist character because she exhibited masculine personality traits. That's what the OP took issue with. Am I missing anything?
