Yeah, maybe she doesn't deserve the hate she gets when compared with others, but she's a very vicious and evil person all on her own. There's not really much excuse for what she did, 'used' or not.

Yeah. She did actually kill people of her own volition before she met Light.

Yeah...when I see these secrets, I have to wonder if people forget that she killed plenty of people on her own before she even met Light, without being told to, just to get his (as Kira) attention. And was totally uncaring about it.

She's not a mean person, but that doesn't make her a good person.

Yes, Misa isn't a good person, but neither are the the main character and his rival and many other DN characters. Yet Misa is the one who gets most of the hate.

I don't hate her (and certainly don't dislike her as a person more than any of the others, and significantly less than I hate Mello and Near).

A lot of her haters are 'ugh, why does she have to date Light' and so on though, yeah. But there are valid reasons to dislike her, too.

Yeah, tbh, I don't think there are any "good" characters in Death Note, at least, almost everyone has some level of gray or commits some morally questionable/evil act to do what they think is right. I don't really like to use "evil" to describe characters that aren't portrayed as total sociopaths, but Misa is definitely a killer independent of Light. All the main characters strike me as somewhat bad people, to be honest - Light, L, Misa, Mello, Near... ironically it seemed like Light and Misa actually act with more consideration for moral direction than those who tried to stop them, sans the police force.

I think Naomi was a good character. And then she died *sad*

Yeah, she is definitely messed up and evil, but she still gets a lot of crap Light doesn't get even though he did the same things and possibly worse. But I agree, the idea that she did what she did because Light used her doesn't fly.

I really like her, in the way I sometimes like messed up and evil characters.
