Yeah, Otaku has actually told me before that I should fuck over my friends and "find better ones". The one I mentioned before is one of the best friends I have right now and has been there for me in ways I didn't even think a Platonic Male Friend could or would (and no he's not a Nice Guy, in fact I had a crush on *him* and it wasn't requited, so just in case anyone wants to make that accusation...) and I have/have had other friends who are bronies and also awesome, not-creepy people. I know how to judge someone by their character and not by a word they use.

Well, I didn't mean to come off as all SHOCK AND B'AAAAAAAAW! about it. I really do like the show.

I realize every fandom has its bad parts, but I suspect that the bad MLP fans just have a large, loud internet presence. And yes, I saw them first. Especially the underaged rape thing. Ugh, just awful. :/ And the whole point of the show goes right out the window with the 'It's not for GIRLS!' bits.

I'll probably try to check out some recommended places. Someone mentioned staying away from Spike and clopfics - much appreciated. There's bound to be a few friendly fandom places. I'm picking the show back up after I read things here.
