I knew a crazy, crazy author once who deleted her journal for a few weeks, then came back, utterly ASTONISHED that people were asking around to see if anyone had saved her fic. "People...save fic?" She really was batshit, though. She's the only author I've ever known who had her head shoved that far into the sand. Why on earth WOULDN'T people save fic? Fic gives readers so much joy, and many people reread books, rewatch tv shows and movies. Of course they're going to want to reread fic. That's completely natural. And you can't trust the internet to stay where you left it. YOU JUST NEVER KNOW. Better safe than sorry, OP.
