You're quite welcome. You might want to stick with the anime and first four volumes of the manga though. There's a really creepy romance plot afterwards, so fair warning.

After hearing about what happens later in the manga, I'm rather grateful that the anime ended where it did.

Aww man, I started reading this series (without any prior knowledge) and have just gotten to the time skip. Reading the comments here makes wonder if I should continue. ):

I mean, you can give it a try, but... what happens is really not great. It's not traumatic or anything, though. It basically goes in the most Japan way possible, which was disappointing to me b/c up to that point the series seemed to be pretty uninterested in cliches and the usual okatu BS.

It really is such a shame that the author went down that route. Oh well, there's always Yotsuba&! And if you haven't read it, My Girl by Mizu Sahara is similiar to Usagi Drop, but without the creepyness. It's absolutely heartwarming.

Yotsuba&! is the absolute perfect blend of slice of life, comedy, and heartwarming. Yotsuba is so damn adorable! So full of life and wonder that she's absolutely infectious. It's what I read whenever I'm feeling down and need to be cheered up.

Oh, I'd like that! However, I'm afraid I wouldn't any other recs, anon. Haven't read much manga as of late and most of what I read isn't slice of life. I'd love some recs though!

OT, but I'm sorta amused at the fact that a secret talking about volume 4 of a manga is at number 4.

I didn't mind the romance/time skip too much, but yeah. It was rather creepy, even for me who tends to like age gaps... doesn't help that vol 1-4 focuses so much on him raising her as a normal kindergarten who pees the bed occasionally and just is at that stage of emotional development.

One thing in its favor is that for most of the time skip it's completely one-sided, so it's not like he's Creepy McCreeper about it. But then in the last volume when she confesses and he's eventually like "...um... maybe? okay?", she has that line where she's like "I want your babies and want to raise them like you raised me" and I'm just like "NOOOO ABORT ABORT."

I am so upset with the way this series ended. D: It was such an amazing series, and then... NOPE.

I'm withholding judgement on this one until I actually read how it happened. It doesn't hit as many squick buttons for me as for other people and so I'm just curious to see if maybe it is actually pulled off okay. Because yes, I think that is actually possible (albeit unlikely, from what I've heard from people who are familiar with the Japanese release).

I tried getting to the creepy romance part but it just go so boring when the little girl grew up and high school happened.

Which is sad because I really wanted to see how the creepiness happened... morbid curiosity...

Even without the ending, the way this story portrays all its female characters makes me pretty uncomfortable.

So is it drops made out of liquid bunnies, like eyedrops, or picking up bunnies and dropping them?

This is really bothering me.

I pretend the timeskip never happened.
