I hate Gimp, too. I just can't use it...
...but are there any alternatives for Mac?

(I usually run Win XP on a VBox and use Paint from there.

I've heard nothing but good things about SAI, but it's Windows only (but if you're already working around that...?)


There's also Artweaver, but also Windows only
