Re: tubal ligation/tubes tied?

(Anonymous) 2013-02-27 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
I had tubal ligation after delivering my fourth child by C-section.

Cut and burned, the doctor told me. My husband had a vasectomy as well, which my doctor wholehearted approved of since she told me that I could still get pregnant but it would most assuredly be ectopic. Since having it done, I regret not having a hysterectomy as my cycles have gotten much worse as I get older and I've read a number of reports of tubals reversing spontaneously. :P

At least as far as what the documentation in my doctor's office says, the older you get the less likely it is that your tubal ligation will undo itself. That's why my doctor will not do the procedure on anyone under 35, because the risk of that happening with dangerous complication is higher.
