I feel like a complete oddball in this discussion for having both GIMP and Photoshop and always using GIMP (tried photoshop one or two times and was like "How do I do anything?!")

Anyway yeah... anything you want to do for a basic fandom secret is available in GIMP, and often the crappy secrets are crappy for design choices. This is one secret I just won't get I guess.

No, I'm with you, I loved GIMP when I used it (I've since moved on to Paint Tool SAI). Photoshop is probably my least favorite and I'm actually trained to use it. XD

hi-5, haha. I've heard of Paint Tool SAI, but I don't do too much with graphics so GIMP, Photoshop and Paint.NET (I think that's the name?) are the only ones I've really played around with.

If you don't mind me asking, what type of stuff do you do with GIMP? Because I've been trying to learn to make icons using GIMP, and I'm struggling a little as a complete beginner and am having a tough time getting a sense of what GIMP is capable of.

I am not going to claim to be a good iconmaker, haha, but this one here is one I made with GIMP; fiddled around with replacing the background and such.

Also made: , (backgrounds filled in on both with some gradients, the first one had quite a bit of tweaking with colors since it was originally from a youtube fanvid and very unsaturated)

This one I messed with colors on a lot: (The original image has her in all black and gray!)

Basically any icon on this account that says auncyenhalig or raaj was made by me in GIMP. Most of the times I just do simple crops and tweaking the colors to how I want them, these are some that required a bit more effort. Icons and the occasional bigger graphic (like the topmost image in this profile table, though it's a bit old) are what I've done. So yeah...I don't tend to do anything too fancy, but hopefully that helps a bit?
