I know multiple people who have had it done, and the general complaint is mild pain from the gas they have to use for the procedure. Personally, I'm looking into Essure for myself, because I have an autoimmune disorder and am on immune suppressants, and Essure involves no incisions (plus with my family history of scarring, I trust something that creates scar tissue more), but for most people that's not as much a concern.

Nobody I have known has had pain longer than a week, and they also considered it mild and annoying. Some said it was milder than period cramps. The ones that had it "bad" had it about a week but most were 3-4 days. Unless you have pain issues to begin with, I probably would not worry too much about it!
