Re: tubal ligation/tubes tied?

I've had a uterine fibroid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uterine_fibroids) removed via laparoscopy.

I was admitted to hospital on Monday, had surgery on Tuesday and went home on Thursday morning. The weekend wasn't that great, there was still some pain (mostly from the gas they use to blow up your belly so that the surgeon can see what he's doing - it took more than a week before my shoulders stopped aching), but I could go for a short walk with a friend who visited on Sunday. I stayed home the following week and returned to work the week after that.

Lifting/carrying heavy things and any exercise more strenuous than a brisk walk were still a no-no for about two months, but all in all I was surprised at how fast I recovered from the surgery and how good the scars healed.

It's not the exact same as having your tubes tied, but as it's in the same "area", I guess your procedure, should you decide to have it done, could be similar to that.

I can't tell you anything about the price, though, since my insurance covered it. And I guess you're American, so prices in Germany wouldn't help you all that much ;)
