I love watching people squee over fandoms I'm not in and don't know anything about. It gives me warm fuzzies to see people happy when I know I don't know enough to disagree with their opinions, and it's tremendously fun to try to figure out what they're talking about from an outsider's perspective.

I'm apparently the only one, though. Everyone always seems to hate it when other fans in their proximity squee over fandoms that they're not in, which totally baffles me.

Personally, the thing that annoys me most is overzealous, everything-reminds-them-of-their-fandom derailing. Not fan squee, per se, but feeling like my spaces have been subjected to an obsessive, "one subject, all the time" takeover.
