I came here to make fun of the spelling of hysterical myself. :P Correct me if I'm wrong and it's spelled with an 'i' in other places, though.

I thought it could be a subtle pun, because "hysteria" with the "y" referred to a perceived-as-feminine thing, so spelling his misogynistic humor with "his" instead of "hys" could be like the way some of the more out-there feminist call history "herstory."

Buuuut, it's probably just a typo.
