Ugh, reading your last sentence made me feel ill because of how unfairly true that is.

(But, but, but...sexism is over, right?!)

Yeah tv execs are sadly quick to blame diversity in a show before they will ever admit that things were poorly advertised/badly written/badly acted or any of the number of problems that come up when fans don't latch on to a new idea in a show.

It's why I'm always very scared when something comes around that either hasn't been done or hasn't been done for a while, because the instant it does bad tv execs will not want to touch it again for years.
