Good distractions?
So far, I'm the only person that knows. I can't tell my mom since she's already sick and finding out that her Dad might have cancer she would make herself sick with worry or become depressed. (The depression would be especially bad for her since her medical condition is pretty serious)
The worst part is waiting til Monday to make an appointment. What are good ways to distract yourself? I seriously need them right now or else I'll start freaking out and crying.
Re: Good distractions?
Gunnerkrigg Court is always a good distraction: http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=17
Also, reading (fanfic or actual books). Warching movies is the best distraction ever.
Re: Good distractions?
Oddly enough, I tried reading some fanfiction and realized nearly half the fics that I love reading have to do with father figures. I had to stop reading them. I definately have a few more than a few movies that I still haven't watched

(Anonymous) 2013-03-03 01:47 am (UTC)(link)Since you have a couple days worth of waiting... I'd suggest finding a new favorite fandom. Something long that maybe you'd been interested in but never had the time to look into before. Now would be a perfect time for that long awaited marathon.
Best of luck! I hope things turn out well for you!
Re: Good distractions?
(Anonymous) 2013-03-03 01:50 am (UTC)(link)in addition to the wonderful Gunnerkrigg Court, there is
Nedroid.com
http://www.oglaf.com/archive/ (Not Safe For Work)
http://gingerhaze.com/nimona/
http://cucumber.gigidigi.com/
also, funny lps:

(Spyro!)

(many horror games; but his reactions are priceless and he cuts away the boring parts where he backtracks or whatever)
Re: Good distractions?
XD I find it funny that I already have all those webcomics bookmarked already. I love Cucumber Quest.
Oooh, I never thought of watching LPs. I love horror game but can't play them at all.
Re: Good distractions?
(Anonymous) 2013-03-03 05:38 am (UTC)(link)I'm the same way; I'm only learning about horror games now thanks to LPs; I'm too much of a coward to play them myself
Re: Good distractions?
(Anonymous) 2013-03-03 02:28 am (UTC)(link)Seconding work and/or fandom. I hope everything goes well, good luck.
Re: Good distractions?
I like to turn off my brain and watch anything on Crunchyroll, Funimation, or Vizanime's show list. Either mindless fluffy junk like Yuru Yuri that puts me in a good mood, or something that I'll be too busy paying attention to like Fate/Zero.
Roosterteeth's Animated Adventures tend to be pretty hilarious. They're stick figured dramatic reenactments of memorable podcast anecdotes.
Also, have some webcomics :)
Paranatural
Wonderella
Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong for their Mon-Fri updates. 223 pages already omg
