Am I the only person with absolutely no interest in this show? I don't get the squeeing and flailing - is it because of the "OMG HAWT CANON GAY BUTTSEX"?

There isn't any "OMG HAWT CANON GAY BUTTSEX" though? Danny is the only confirmed gay character, a few others are hinted but not outright stated bisexuals.

Despite the cheesy premise and very loose connection to the 80s movie, the show does a pretty good job with character development and most storylines. I think people get turned away because of tumblr fangirls/boys. :\

I watch it for fun but after episode 4 or 5 I felt in love with the characters and the plot. ALso there is no canon gay buttsex. Okay, sure S3 will give us a sex scene between the canon gay character and his new boyfriend but S1 or S2 has no explicit gay scenes.... eh except a short m/m kiss and the scene in the gay dance club and naturally one of the side characters is gay. Oh and one of the main characters is bi.

Until we actually get canonical proof of bi!Stiles, I don't think it counts. After all, Jeff said he saw Spencer Reid in Criminal Minds as bi, but it's been 8 seasons and his only romantic interests have been women, without even a confirmation by word-of-mouth that he could possibly be interested in men. Not exactly a compelling portrayal of bisexuality. /shrug

I cringed through the whole show, but I've found corners of this fandom that are amazing. There's a lot of potential in it. For me, it's the characters. I think the plot was absurdly bad, but I was intrigued by many of the characters and I fell really really hard for Dylan O'Brien.
But even so: DON'T GET INTO IT if you're not interested. I know it's an odd thing to say, but so much about the fandom is excruciatingly awkward and embarrassing.

You're so right.

There are fabulous parts of the fandom, where people are creative and original and fascinating - and who do amazing things with characters whose actual storylines never make sense.

There are also the parts devoted to rhapsodising about actor's various body parts in deeply disturbing, immensly creepy ways. There are scary, scary things in these parts.

I have no interest in the show at all. Never had and never will. But I especially don't just because the fandom is going batshit over a pairing that doesn't even exist in the canon at all. There are no hints towards it whatsoever, it's just that people LOLLET'SPAIRTWOHOTGUYSTOGETHER in the fandom. No thanks.

Not that I have any problem with your disinterest in Teen Wolf, but your statement reads like you think "fandom going batshit over a pairing that doesn't exist in canon" is unique to Teen Wolf fandom. A huge percentage of popular slash pairings don't exist in canon, even as vague hints - Harry/Draco, Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan, Aziraphale/Crowley, Mal/Jayne, Mulder/Krycek...god, I could go on forever.
