Well when they DON'T stuff a movie with emotional shit, people hate it. See: Cars (not Cars 2, which was a genuinely poor movie).

However, I think that most of the drama in the their movies is very well-done and, to be honest, if it works it works. Yes they manipulate your emotions-that's what movies are SUPPOSED to do. There's no such thing as one movie's emotional moments being more genuine than another's because it's all made up anyway. If the audience really feels it (and with Pixar films, they usually do) then it's genuine. Period.

Though I didn't think Brave deserved to win this year. I wanted Wreck-It-Ralph to win (and I thought Paranorman was extremely overrated).
