I say, like what you like. You don't need validations from anybody, even the Academy Awards.

People have been saying for years that the award has been going downhill, but they still get upset when the "right" move doesn't win. I don't get it.

This. The Academy Awards is just a medd of politically corrent and general audience favorites, not actual choices by quality.

I think it's a big warning sign when Seth McFarlane of all people gets to host such an event. Usually I would watch this circlejerk every year, but this year I just had to turn off the TV.

I even like "American Dad", but watching Seth make sex jokes about a real 9-year-old girl, while said girl was in the fucking audience - that was too much for me. I was like: "Ok, The Oscars have finally jumped the shark".
