I don't know. I get why that stuff could bother you, but I tend to find that it doesn't bother me. As long as the logic of the story holds true - as long as the emotional core of the story works - I can shrug all that off. And, for me, the central story of Superman stories works enough for me to enjoy reading them. To me, that's what matters. Sure all that stuff about whether you can breath in space or why you're vulnerable to magic can be pretty goofy, but to me, it has nothing to do with whether you can tell a good story.

But different strokes.

MTE. I think this person is overthinking Superman. He's Superman---just roll with it.

Like you, if I can believe the emotional side of it, I don't care about the tiny logic issues. I just want to believe the story, which I think is increasingly rare in fandom. Apparently I can't turn my inner seven-year-old off?

TL;DR: YANA, but it might but be you and me, dude.
