Re: Shows you wish hadn't been cancelled
The premise is that Henry Spivey (Christian Slater) is a fictional creation. He has a real life with a real wife and real kids, but he was a personality created and implanted into secret agent Edward Albright. He has no idea about his "other life" as a spy, until on one night when he "wakes up" mid-mission. And it gets worse as Henry or Edward periodically reappear when they shouldn't.
I loved it, because not only did it have this real Jekyll and Hyde thing going on, but the spy stuff was fun, because Edward was so good at it and Henry was soooooooo out of his element. And Edward's disgust at Henry's suburban, white-picket-fence life was kind of hilarious (though I was really waiting for a story arc of Henry's kids starting to grow on him).
Plus it had Mike O'Malley and a pre-Twilight Taylor Lautner. I have its lone half-season on DVD, but I've been too afraid to watch its final episodes. The last episode that I saw was such a natural act break I was worried that additional episodes would just leave me hung out to dry with a big cliffhanger or something.
