WHAT DO WE MEAN WHEN WE SAY TL;DR??

[personal profile] wauwy 2013-03-08 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Beyond all else, a wall of text. Immediately, this makes us skip a secret. Use paragraph breaks liberally.

Beyond that, a lack of of pith. You can say what you said here in 30% of the words. Keep it concise and skip over redundant or unnecessary detail. Boring and uncompelling introductary words don't help either.

this has been a friendly reminder

Wow, fuck you, do. No, they couldn't have said what they did with less words. It would have lacked detail.

Way to be an unempathetic bastard who cares more about the length of a secret than its contents.

Sorry, I have a disease where I can only tell the truth.

The further truth is that this sounds highly exaggerated and skewed and I suspect (because I've seen this a lot) OP was obsessed with this crush; an obsession which he noticed, got uncomfortable with, and tried to distance himself from.

The biggest truth is that at its heart this has nothing to do with fandom, and the reference to Homestuck is just to get it to pass submission requirements and get a sob story audience.

ikr?

here, I'll go

"I became best friends with a guy over Homestuck. We became very close in other areas of our lives too.

But then he got a girlfriend and started ignoring me and even mocking me and my beliefs in front of our friends; beliefs he had once claimed to share with me!

I've lost all our common friends and I can't open myself up to other people any more.

Now I get a lump in my throat when I see Homestuck or MSPA."
