"Fondly Fahrenheit" by Alfred Best springs immediately to mind. Such a great story. You might also enjoy some of the AI stuff in things like the Culture books by Iain M Banks.

Also, you should read Pluto, by Naoki Urasawa, if you haven't already. Like, now. Like, seriously, you should stop everything you're doing and read it immediately.
