The (in)famous comparison: Russell Crow left some to be desired, but I had to break out my earplugs when he started in on the real tenor songs. His voice was tight, pushed, and screechy a lot of the time, particularly "Bring Him Home". And he's supposed to be the one with all the Broadway experience! So good, they closed the show when he cycled out, because no-one could possibly replace him! I was very disappointed.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-08 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)Crowe was not great but Jackman's voice was just disturbing, really tight and "nosy" if that's a way to say it (English as a second language... yeah), especially in "Valjean's soliloquy".
