Wreck-It Ralph was really good and honestly my favourite movie of 2012. It just made me very happy.

Brave in comparison... well, I honestly wanted to like it, but it felt really weak compared to other Pixar works.

So yeah, I know that feeling basically!

This is how I felt. I wanted to like Merida so much--she had an awesome design, an awesome setting, in concept she seemed like an awesome person. A lot of the stuff surrounding her movies, like the wisps, seemed so full of potential. And then I saw it and was terribly disappointed.

I only just managed to catch Wreck-it Ralph in theaters and I got blown away by the genuine sincerity of it all. It strode easily over basically every issue Brave stumbled upon.

I think Brave had...quite a few loose threads.

So many. I wanted a lot more on Mordu than we ended up getting, but I'm not sure if the original cut had a lot of him in the first place. The artbook doesn't really say.

Oh yeah, the short? Maybe I'll watch it eventually. I bought the movie for my mother but haven't watched it since. I want some distance.
