I strongly agree. I read the book after seeing the movie, and found that the plot differs so much that the central moral dilemma (to me, at least) didn't really exist in the book at all.

*SPOILERS*

After all, in the book when Angier uses the device, the old "version" of himself dies during the process, while in the movie he actually KILLS the other one, which is much more interesting and raises more ambiguous ethical questions. Is it murder? If not, why? How far is too far for something you love? etc.
