Oh anon, don't give them that power over you :( You're the one who gets to make decisions about what you do or don't do, including listening to things like this. What makes their opinion of you the "right" one? Telling someone to just stop talking because it's an inconvenience sounds like something major jerks do and I'd take major jerk assessments with a big grain of salt.

As for being lonely, it really, really sucks. Sorry.

Maybe the problem isn't you though; maybe you're trying to make friends with the wrong people. (Some people just aren't compatible.)

So your friend said you talk too much and your reaction was to not talk at all? You seem a bit extremist to me. Maybe ask for clarification, like did you say something that offended them? Went too far with a joke? Were they just having a bad day and took it out on you? Were they joking? Communication is important in any relationship.

And if you want someone to notice something speak up and tell them. Don't pull the emo teen card of sitting in a silent corner bemoaning the fact.

And while you're at it, you might want to find new friends who like you and your talkative self just the way you are.
