adventure time

all the hype has made me curious about this show. Do I need to go back to the start or can I just start watching anywhere?

Probably anywhere. There's vague plot thrown in here and there, but mostly randoms. I mean I guess starting at the beginning will obviously introduce characters in order so you won't get confused, but it's not the most deep of shows. It is, however, the most awesome of shows and I hope you enjoy it!

okay, thanks! I was really hoping that was true-- I'm a lot more likely to pick up a new show if I don't have to slog through a bunch of backstory to get to the recent stuff.

You'll probably find a list of the best episodes somewhere. It doesn't have much continuity, so using that would make the most of your time.

There's a bit of plot in the newest seasons, but you can really start anywhere in the first couples of seasons and if you don't get a reference/don't know a character, you might see another episode where they were introduced, but it's not a big deal.

I started watching just random episodes I'd catch when it was on TV and yeah there were a few times I was a bit confused, but overall it's just fun stuff. I'd go ahead and look for the Best Of lists and start with those eps, then if you catch the bug you'll prob end up going back and watching them all anyway.

I like watching shows from the beginning, but for Adventure Time, you can pretty well watch an episode from the first few season and won't feel completely lost.

If you're downloading/buying the eps, start from the beginning. However, if you're just planning to catch it on TV, then you should be fine viewing AT out of order.

Keep in mind while you're watching that this show takes place after a large nuclear war. It makes things a lot darker.
