Here's what I want to know from you and your ilk:

Who is actually on LJ these days?

Seriously. All the comms I used to watch have died. Some have migrated to DW, but most of them have either shriveled up or been unceremoniously deleted. Fandom is not there anymore. It's moved on to other platforms.

Truth is, you're not actually lamenting the move of F!S. You're lamenting the fact that the nature of fandom has changed. For whatever reason, you can't accept that LJ is now something totally different than it once was (e.g. it's now mainly a meeting place for Russian bloggers and activists). But it is, and nothing you can say or do will change that.

Annnnnnnnnd this. Sad but true.

It's diminished, but it's not gone. (And FWIW, I have no problem with F!S on Dreamwidth.)

My main interaction with fandom these days is on fail_fandomanon and some LJ-based kink memes, most of them quite active.

Probably just the way I read it, "You and your kind," as a bit heavy-handed. Like OP is part of some band of miscreants. I guess I just don't often see ilk used to refer to a group someone actually likes.

I'm not leaving completely until whatwasthatbook does.

My major comms are still on LJ but I'm starting to think that's the exception.

Most of the old activity on LJ is dead, but on the other hand, I find fandom stuff that I don't find anywhere else (or can't be bothered to track on other services that I find less practical), but on Russian communities.

It just makes me use Google translate a lot. And missing the essence of comments, but considering we're talking about fandom here, in that case it may be better to only get the news & source and be spared fan comments...
