Did you read the actress on the right's rant about the whole thing? It was kind of hilarious considering she's on that show.

But for the record I have no problem with the princess thing, I love princesses, I do have a problem when it is considered the one option for girls, but as ONE of the options it's fine.

But dressing as princesses is the LEAST of the problems on that show in terms of offensiveness.

Well...I don't exactly disagree but it seems like she was saying a whole lot of nothing. Or at least, she wasn't saying anything special or new.

Basically she is against "princess culture", she had a few interesting points but she also said a few problematic things and all of it is kind of weird when you consider she is on Big Bang Theory because it makes me believe she really should have problems working on that show.

I think Mayim's kind of damned if she does or doesn't with the show. She may not agree with everything she's asked to do (I'm a close enough follower of her blog to know that aside from everything else, she probably wasn't too comfortable wearing short sleeves for that scene), but she's in a bad position. She has two kids to feed and raise (including homeschooling them and spending as much time with them as she can), and the show's hours actually make it easier for her do that. I think she actually said somewhere that she went back to acting after her getting her PhD because the hours were better for her, and she really only wanted to do enough to get health insurance. She kind of ended up a regular on TBBT by accident, and now...well, she's probably making a buttload of money, locked into a severe contract, and on top of that she's going through a divorce.

So yeah, I've never seen her be outright derogatory of the show, but she does speak her mind when she feels it's necessary.

SA. Yeah I'm not necessarily judging her for being on the show (I am judging the show itself) because actresses have very little power in these sorts of things, especially ones who were gone for a long time and are just coming back.

I'm honestly even surprised she would say as much as she did, it can take very little to be blacklisted in the film industry, so I'm glad she feels comfortable enough to speak her mind somewhat (though I don't agree with all she says.)

will I be slammed as SJW if I say that the "gypsy" thing made me quite uncomfortable? Not that she did it at 6 or 7, but that nowadays she's all "LOL it's good fun, don't be a wet blanket and call it racist!" rather than, idk "I realize this can be offensive to Roma people but I was just a kid who didn't know better". It's not that hard to show a modicum of respect to other people, you know?
