Got all night? Miranda, Ab Fab, Inspector Lynley, The IT Crowd, Father Ted, Black Books, Jam and Jerusalem, Midsomer Murders (in all its awfulness), Lewis, Morse, Rosemary & Thyme (in all its genius!), Dinnerladies, Spaced, A Touch of Frost, A Touch of Cloth. My new favourite is Last Tango in Halifax, which is almost flawless.

Partly it's just what I grew up with. But I also think - generalising wildly - British TV is often better for showing women with a diversity of body types and with a more natural approach to hair and make-up. I can think about how much I want to be those characters without the immediate follow-up of hating my own body.
