... From the standpoint of a believer, is writing Bible (or any religious/mythological) fanfiction sort of a bizarre form of RPF? Where you have to keep the dual perspective of 'fictional representation' vs 'actual person' in mind?

I mean, I tend to apologise to any and all gods/deities/spirits I'm using, on the grounds that it would be rude to do otherwise if any of them turned out to be real and/or listening in. But it's very low key, since I'm basically just a low-level agnostic who doesn't like to be rude. I'm not sure what it would be like for a more fervent believer.

IDK exactly but I know someone who is a fervent believer and who reads and writes a lot of Bible fic, slashy and otherwise. So it does happen!

Pretty much, except what you know about the 'actual person' is even more blurry than a modern or at least well documented figure.
