People were hating on that?? Did they...miss the point?? I thought that was surprisingly shrewd, especially for that show, the way they were kinda deconstructing the whole 'good feminist' idea. Like, yeah, there should be more focus on women in science (and if Sheldon of all people realizes it, you know that shit is obvious) and those two are very intelligent and accomplished, and they're also girls who like to have harmless 'girly' fun sometimes, and one doesn't cancel out the other, and it's perfectly okay to be one or the other or both. I was actually really impressed with that bit.

Personally, I'm glad it showed them having fun. Often in series like this, it's the "manboychild and his wife/girlfriend-babysitter". The trope of "men are immature and get to play with toys forever while girls have to grow up and their only fun can be spending money" is worn paper thin in sitcoms.
