There's nothing wrong with doing that. In fact, this is the kind of recommendation that might make me more inclined to actually pick up Arrow. I still miss the insanity that was the first season of "The Cape", which I think is a watching-for-the-lulz experience that will never be equaled.

The Cape was awesomely entertaining. I went into it thinking it would be stupid but I loved it waaaay too much.

OH MAN, The Cape! I was so bored so bored so bored and then BAM! CIRCUS FOLK! \o/

It does bother me a bit whenever some people want other characters to die because they hate them so, though. Not pointing at any fingers, but yeah, they exist already.

Shit, I started watching for Barrowman. Watching for the lolz isn't any worse than that. Of course, I squeed like a little girl when bland brunette #1's mom turned out to be River Song. If Barrowman and River make out at some point, it may become my favorite show ever.

Do you think River and Barrowman would make out? I can see them fighting each other, but not hooking up. Still, I started watching for the same reason.

Oh...right, this is a thing that exists.

I enjoyed the pilot enough (in all it's ridiculousness) to want to see it multiple times! Then never watched another episode... (Mostly I just got busy with other stuff and then forgot.)

Maybe I'll marathon it when it gets put on netflix.

(Sorry to get off topic.) It's perfectly fine to watch something for the lol's. If you're enjoying it, even if what your enjoying is the ridiculousness...it doesn't matter. And hey, their work still gets seen, right? I doubt the people involved with the show would even mind. *shrugs*

The reasons don't matter as long as you are enjoying it. I started watching because I needed my superhero fix. After getting hooked on the island plot and some of the side characters, I'll be on board for the next season.

This show really is all about the island plot and the side characters. The present-day plots are standard criminal-of-the-week stuff. Give me conspiracy-theory-Gilligan's Island any day!

I'm totally with you there, I think I watch it mainly to pass the time. If only the main character was actually likeable.

Ollie's mostly cool, but even so there are times when his in-verse character, in acting like a party boy, just gets this totally douchey little smirk on his face and I just want to smack it right off.

I take it you haven't seen Matt Wilson's recaps of the show on ComicsAlliance, then?

Watching something for the lulz is okay. That's why I watch Smash. But I do actually like this show---I think the plots and acting outstrip Smallville by a lot. Maybe I just have low standards.

Then again, I mainly watch for the awesome that is/are Felicity Smoak and (SPOILERS) Slade Wilson. ~~And I ship them like burning even though they're in completely different timelines.~~

I didn't know people took Arrow seriously... I think it's a fun mindless TV show that gives great escapism and lots of yummy eye candy <3

But whenever I see someone talking about this show they're always pointing out that it is in fact, a bad show(even if they like it). So I don't think you're alone. :)

I watched it for my queen, Katie Cassidy. But they've shoved her character so far to the side it's like she's not a main character, and her acting - which is normally awesome and completely underrated - is bland. I have a theory that she's not totally comfortable or happy with her character. (I remember back when she first got the role, she seemed so excited to play Black Canary. Instead, she got stuck with this steaming pile.)

It's also painfully obvious that these writers have absolutely zero idea how to write strong female characters. I suppose an argument could be made for the character of Felicity, but even she isn't as good as she could be.

I'm glad that it's not just me. I have a few friends who take it seriously and I'm always like, "Uh...okay!"...but yeah, I'm glad for the entertainment at least. And the shirtless scenes. :P

I was initially watching for Katie Cassidy but like the comment above says, her character is bland, bland, bland. :(

It's not a bad show, and yeah, I started it as a way to kill time while other shows were on hiatus and stuff. Still, it's kinda pulled me in and I want to see how it ends, heh.

I intended to watch it for the lulz but whoops, accidentally invested. /o\ Still is lulzy though.

Definitely not the only one. I very much watch it for the lulz! I seem to spend an inordinate amount of time commenting on people's hair (bland ex girlfriend has way to perfect hair, and her dad has mad bed hair most of the time!). Colin Salmon was by far my favourite character on there but he seems to be gone :(
