I watched it for my queen, Katie Cassidy. But they've shoved her character so far to the side it's like she's not a main character, and her acting - which is normally awesome and completely underrated - is bland. I have a theory that she's not totally comfortable or happy with her character. (I remember back when she first got the role, she seemed so excited to play Black Canary. Instead, she got stuck with this steaming pile.)

It's also painfully obvious that these writers have absolutely zero idea how to write strong female characters. I suppose an argument could be made for the character of Felicity, but even she isn't as good as she could be.

I absolutely agree with this. My theory is that her acting is best when she plays an edgier character (think Ruby on Supernatural), but here her character is so good-girl that she doesn't have much to do.

I don't know anything about Katie Cassidy, I just had to look up which character she was, but I generally refer to her as bland brunette #1. (Ollie's sister is bland brunette #2). They've made those characters so bland it took me probably 3 episodes to be able to distinguish which one was his sister and which one was his ex-girlfriend. But then, I only started watching for the Barrowman.
