I judge people who judge people based on how they dress. I find it more cringe worthy and embarrassing then any potential second hand embarrassment silly fandom accessories, or, ~GOD FORBID~ pajamas at the store could bring.

At least people who dress how they please seem happy and secure with themselves.

People who have conniptions over ~propriety~ and ~decorum~ just come off as very boring and insecure.

This. Second-hand embarrassment is directly linked to ones own insecurities. Not that there's anything wrong with that! There is not a single person who hasn't fought a battle against insecurity for whatever reason at some point in their life and, especially when it comes to nerdy things, some people I'm sure have a lot of good reason to be insecure! (I'm thinking like bullying, isolation, friends who don't understand their passion type things here, not like that I think your fandom is stupid and you should be embarrassed about it :p)

I just think its pretty unfair to go as far as 'judging' people for this sort of harmless behaviour is all.

If it makes you uncomfortable, then that reflects on you, so don't take it out on them. They're just having fun!
