By this point I'm genuinely hoping that every single pairing that was ever in the comic in any quadrant has broken up by the end and none of them get back together onscreen, just to piss off everyone equally. Only fair, yeah? Then again, I also think it would be hilarious if Lord English was defeated by someone shooshpapping him a la Sober Gamzee.

Honestly, I love pairing fic, but in the canon I think they have much bigger things to worry about than hooking up and I hope the characters realise that too. Karkat seems to think so in the speaker crab scene, I think.

I love pairings but I agree that romance shouldn't be the focus of the comics. But the secret was about a pairing so...

Anyway it would be funny if each pairing broke up and I kind of think that's likely. I honestly wonder if there will be any canon pairings at the end. It would be fun that way too - open-ended and for each person to decide who they want with who.
