I think it would be epic if it turned out that Irene was alive; I kinda expect it, in fact. But I don't necessarily want her to be Moriarty.

Also, I went into Elementary DEFINITELY not wanting the leads to become a canon ship; but their relationship has grown in such a subtle and realistic way that I think it could be really enjoyable if done right.

Ever since we discovered that Irene was killed in a way where there was no body and no witnesses, I've just assumed that she's alive.

Same. I mean, if they just wanted Sherlock to have a Dead Girlfriend in his past, they could have used any name. But they chose Irene Adler, one of the better known characters from the original stories, and I don't see them killing her off pre-series, so I'm pretty positive she's alive and she'll show up again at some point..
