So my mom was in a car accident a couple weeks ago and I flew out to help take care over her until she recovers (hence my reduced f!s participation). Most of it should heal fine, but she needs surgery for her collarbone which she's getting tomorrow. I'm just praying to God that everything goes okay for both her and for me, since right now I am literally her 24/7 personal assistant and the whole situation's been rather stressful for both of us.

Aww man, I'm sorry that happened. :( I hope everything goes well for her in surgery tomorrow! It was good of you to fly out to take care of her but I know being 'on-call' 24/7 must be dragging you down, so hopefully you won't have to keep it up much longer. Good luck to the both of you!

Yeah, thanks! It's a simple surgery with one of the best doctors on the island, so it should be fine. I'm mostly worried about her getting a cold or something in the next couple hours and them having to reschedule.

And also thanks for understanding, part of me is just like "oh, I feel so selfish," but it really has been a constant thing. She's got all of her energy and almost all of her daily schedule intact, it's just her ability to get around/drive and pick up things. I haven't really talked with another living person standing in front of me for two weeks now. :\

Ooh, yea, that could throw the plans off. I hope nothing causes her to reschedule. :/

I don't think it's selfish! You want to help your mother and came in her time of need (which is commendable), but taking care of anyone constantly (especially if you aren't used to it) is taxing. At least it sounds like she's doing well despite the leg? It's good that she hasn't been frustrated or bored, but it'll be nice when things are back to normal for both of you.
