(Also gen is boring and I get really angry if I find a long fic with my OTP and there is no sex scene.)

I find a lot of the sex scenes in fanfic boring. You read enough of them, and they all morph into each other. Over and over, the same tropes, same descriptions - or if not precisely the same, then only just slightly varied - like a bunch of houses in a neighborhood that are all a tiny bit different, but they all look the same.

This. I almost always skip the sex scenes. They make me yawn. What I like is the interesting character interaction, tension and chemistry play. Sex is just... sex, and often when they get into that point in a fic it's like "Okay, nothing to see here anymore. Now it's just the same old tropes again and again."
Of course there are some exceptions and I have read some interesting sex scenes too but in general I agree with your comment. Heck, I'm pretty much the opposite to the anon you responded to. I get angry if the nice, slow-building interaction is ruined with a rushed sex scene.

Wouldn't you be able to tell from the rating/classification if a fic has sex scenes in it or not?
