Why not just watch your show, collect your toys, ignore the haters, and have friends you like?

^can this just be the motto of every member of every fandom? Because it kind of sums it up.

I mean, OP, I can kind of get you. I won't deny that as a teenager in a comic book shop I would sometimes look at the adult men playing Magic The Gathering and think "well I'm a nerd and people make fun of me, but at least I'm not like THAT"... but that's a pretty sad mindset, honestly.
