I think what'll help you the most isn't our words of encouragement, but for you to actively do something about your situation! Your body is actually something you can work on; heck, it should be your life investment. I know several friends who had body image issues and depression as a result for a long time, but they eventually took control of their situation, fixed their diet and worked out, and they've slimmed and even toned down so much, and they really are much happier. On the other side of the spectrum, I also know some really great cosplayers who are super thin and attractive-- and I've come to realize that they too have to work hard for their shape, and they have their own body image troubles they're dealing with as well. All in all, everyone's working hard, and not accepting defeatism as their only option.

I think it'll be fulfilling for you to actively seek a solution, rather than "wait" for things to get better.

Hugs, and best wishes!

Weight isn't always down to diet and exercise, though. OP could have a health condition, or be on medication, that causes them to gain weight and have trouble losing it. (Which is why saying "Eat more then!" to a really underweight person who is having trouble gaining weight isn't always a solution either.)

I like this comment, and I agree!

What makes you think the OP hasn't thought of this already?
