I'm going to be blunt here OP, you have two choices.
1. Accept that you can't cosplay slimmer characters without being the butt of jokes and stick to larger ones or don't cosplay at all.
2. Lose weight.
The best thing you can do is the second one. Cut sugar and processed food out of your diet, eat less meat and dairy, more vegetables. Exercise.

If you want to do it you'll find a way, otherwise you'll find an excuse.

If it were nearly as easy as you make it sound, there wouldn't be so many of us fat people.

Y'know, I've been skinny, and I've been fat, and in my experience the answer IS that easy. The really really hard part is the self-discipline to follow through with it. I'm currently on the hefty side of life because I've been eating all the wrong foods and haven't been going to the gym.

Obligatory disclaimer - medical conditions, yada yada. But for me? When I get fat, I know it's always bad diet and lack of exercise. When I get thin, it's always diet and exercise.

seconding the above anon. having been on both sides of the spectrum? it really is that easy if you just stick with it. make it a permanent lifestyle change and after a while you'll find you don't even have to think about it anymore because it's just a part of your normal routine.

+1

The "lifestyle change" is key. You're not "on a diet", you change to a good diet.

Lol, guess you chose to make an excuse then. Enjoy being fat.

Enjoy trolling.
